Why are the bottles so dark?
We deliberately chose these dark Miron glass bottles. Because we don't want to add anything like preservatives, the dark glass protects the product's active ingredients.
Help, the pump isn't working anymore. What can I do?
Is your pump not working? It's because it has a vacuum seal. Open it briefly... Leave the nozzle in the product for a moment. Then pump twice. Screw the nozzle back on. And the product will be pumped out.
The smell is different from last time. How is that possible?
Working with natural, unrefined ingredients is great. But the downside is that the smell (and color) can vary from batch to batch. Think of it like an apple, which smells (and tastes) differently from one batch to the next, depending on, for example, the amount of sun it's been exposed to. The formulation doesn't change, and the effectiveness remains the same.
Are your products organic?
The ingredients are as organic as possible, but not all. This is simply because it's too expensive for many farmers (where we source our ingredients) to be certified organic. All ingredients are lab-tested for toxicity upon arrival. And, of course, only approved ingredients are used.
Are your products vegan?
Yes!
Help, I'm actually getting pimples from using it. Is that normal?
Don't panic! Using new, all-natural products can cause your skin to react. For example, breakouts. These can be in the same spot you normally get, but sometimes they seem to move around. This isn't exactly a pleasant, but important and beneficial (detox) reaction for your skin. All I can say is: hang in there! It really does get better. Your skin needs to get used to the new ingredients and to the fact that it's being put back to work. For some, it takes a few days, for others, a whole monthly cycle.
What do I do with the empty bottles?
They are indeed almost too beautiful to throw in the glass recycling bin. However, that's the best solution. Glass is infinitely recyclable, which can save many new raw materials. Almost 90% of all glass is already recycled. Recycling also reduces CO2 emissions.
The Basics
I have dry/dehydrated skin. What are the correct proportions?
Start with 5–6 sprays of Hydrating Essence and 1–2 drops of Nourishing Beauty Oil, then adjust as needed. If your skin feels dry (flaky, dull, lacking oil), add a little more Oil (2–3 drops). If it feels dehydrated (tight, fine lines, lacking water), use extra sprays of Hydrating Essence.
What do I do with the cotton cloth?
Use our organic cotton cleansing cloth with The Basics to remove all the makeup and dirt from the day. First, massage the Cleansing Oil into your face, then place the warm, damp cloth over it and remove all the dirt and makeup. Repeat this once or twice more with a rinsed cloth until your face is completely clean. Mascara can also be removed with the Cleansing Oil and the cloth. You can add an extra drop of Cleansing Oil around your eyes if needed.
I have oily skin, what is the right ratio?
You can play around with our products. You can adjust the composition of the Hydrating Essence+Nourishing Beauty Oil to your skin's specific needs. The basic formula is 5-6 sprays of Hydrating Essence and 1-2 drops of Nourishing Beauty Oil. Afraid of using oil on your face? That's a shame, because a good oil (full of nutrients like antioxidants and beneficial fats) helps make your skin healthy and radiant (not shiny). When you apply a good oil to your skin, sebum production is regulated(balanced). Cleansing is also very important! Use our Soothing Cleansing Oil to wash away all the dirt from your face in the evening. Oily T-zone? Then focus extra on cleansing this area. Use a clean Cleansing Cloth every day to cleanse your face!
Why do you only cleanse once a day?
If you cleanse your skin in the evening and go to bed with it, not much will have happened to your skin the next morning. So you can just use water to freshen up (or shower), then apply the Nourishing Beauty Oil & Hydrating Essence. You can cleanse twice a day, but we find it's actually not necessary. Try it for a while and see what it does for your skin!
How long does a full size of The Basics last?
With average use, a set will last you about 3 months. Some women use them for about 4 months.
How long do my product last?
Unopened, the products have a shelf life of one year, and six months once opened. This is the exception, however, for the Hydrating Essence, which is a bit more fragile; use it within six months of opening.
