Activate the Lymphatic System – Big Six Method

A great start to your day: activate your lymphatic system with the Big Six method

We often pay a lot of attention to our skin, muscles, and organs, but what about our lymphatic system? It often gets overlooked. It's a shame, because this system plays a vital role in your health and appearance. It's also called your body's "garbage disposal," and for good reason. A well-functioning lymphatic system helps remove waste, toxins, and excess fluid. But when this system stagnates, you can notice it: think bags under your eyes, dull skin, blemishes, or a weakened immune system.

Fortunately, you can do something daily to support your lymphatic system. And the best part is: it's very simple. Discover Dr. Perry's Big Six method.

What is the Big Six method?

The Big Six is a short, simple routine that stimulates your lymphatic system at six strategic points on your body. By gently rubbing or using circular motions at these points, followed by a tapping motion, you help stimulate lymphatic flow. It only takes a few minutes and you can do it every morning, for example, right after waking up.

Step by step: how to do the Big Six

  1. Clavicle

    • Rub above and below your collarbones.

    • Then, lightly tap the same spots with your fingertips.

    • Repeat on both sides of your body, for about 10 seconds each time.

  2. Side of the neck to the collarbone

    • Make stroking movements from just below your ear (think 8 o'clock on a clock) towards your collarbone.

    • Then tap gently on that same line.

  3. Shoulder top and under armpit

    • Rub the top of your shoulder and under your armpit (where many lymph nodes are located).

    • Then lightly tap both spots.

    • Do this on the other side as well.

  4. Abdominal area

    • Place one hand on your stomach, around your navel, and the other just below your breast.

    • Make up and down or sideways movements.

    • Then gently tap your stomach.

  5. Liesstreek

    • Rub your hands over your groin on both sides.

    • Then tap those areas lightly with your fingers.

  6. Back of the knees

    • Rub gently behind your knees.

    • Then tap gently here as well.
